There's been a swarm of new tablets released and more to come. Been looking for a good, cheap 10" tablet since I gave my Nexus 7 2nd gen tablet to my wife.
This HP tablet has for some reason been under the radar. Hard to find any reviews on it.
Thanks to KenMitch for his thread in Hot Deals for pointing me to it. It's still $249.99 shipped from Amazon. I used some Discovercard cashback I had to bring it down to $208., and shipped it to my son in OH to avoid paying 9.75% TN sales tax. http://www.amazon.com/HP-O10-5600US-10-1-Inch-Tablet-Graphite/dp/B00GSPW2QG/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
For the price this is a great tablet and comes with MS Office Home and Student 2013. Specs here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03984112&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
Pros:
Full Windows 8.1 + MS Office for Home and Students
Fast boot time
Excellent speed
Screen resolution 1920x1200
8 - 8 1/2 hours battery life
HP put backup OS on a 8 GB micro SD card
Ability to join Homegroup with my other computers
See specs
Cons:
Only 12.5 GB HD space left after installing MS Office but snagged a new Samsung 64 GB class 10 micro SD card from eBay for $14.99 shipped.
Unlike my Nexus 7, Win 8.1 mail app can not be set up for POP3 accounts, only IMAP. Have to access my POP3 Comcast email account from their website.
You have to log in to a MS account to use the Skype app. I have an old live.com account I set up back in the days of Bing cashback but I never use it and don't want to.
