HP Officejet 6110 or Officejet D145

Which is better? I know they are miles apart in terms of pricing, but which one has better quality printing, scanning, & running costs?

6110 is newer and quieter, can use the photo cartridge. You already know it is less expensive.

D145 can go 2400x1200 (versus 1200x1200) if you can see the difference without a magnifying glass.

D145 has separate print heads which cost $34 x 4 when they need replacement.

6110 rated at 3000 pages/month, D145 at 5000.

IMHO, the 6110 gets the nod.

BTW, whichever you get, follow the instructions and install the software FIRST.

DO NOT hook the printer up until after that is all done and re-booted.

Free advice, usually taken at face value.

The 6110 has better print quality, but it comes at a cost. The 6110 costs about 4.4 cents per page of black text, more than almost any other printer. I don't have the per page costs on the D145 handy, but you can figure them by going to HP site and looking up the supplies for the printer (they list prices and yields).

Peace,
will
