HP NX6110 laptop boot issues

Picked up this laptop on EBay. It boots up to the BIOS no problem, but it is not booting the Hard drive and going into windows. The hdd is good and will boot to windows on another machine. This thing just sits there with the curser blinking in the upper left hand corner.
I have looked through the BIOS settings and it looks like everything is enabled to boot from the hard drive. I was able to boot Ubuntu off the DVD and I could browse the hard drive while Ubuntu was running. I am stumped.
Anyone got any more ideas?
