Vista will slow it down to a crowl. And with only a 32MB of VRAM, you won't be able to use the Aero feature anyway. Stick to XP until you buy a new laptop.

Your nc6000 is not Vista ready graphically - and without that - there's not much point. Suggest you clone your old drive proportionally to the new, larger HDD and be ready to run on the new drive in less than an hour.
