HP motherboard

Working on an HP pavilion A430n desktop. It needs a power supply but I have heard stories of folks putting in standard PSU's into HP computers and frying the MB

This is a P4 computer; is it recent enough to NOT still be affected by this problem? I know there's no guarantees in life, but I'd rather not fry this PC if I can help it!

According to pcpowerandcooling this unit will work just fine.
It is a standard ATX power supply. You can probably go to
a larger wattage, if there is enough space in the computer case.

I use an antec 350w ps on my hp motherboard. Even with 4 pins left open, it works fine. The standard hp power supply used a 20 pin connector on a 24 pin plug.
