HP Motherboard to ASUS P5LD2-VM

Hey guys, I am tired of using my HP computer as a...well HP. So I was looking around google for a way to flash the motherboard they provide, the ASUS P5LP-LE, to a usable motherboard. I didn't find any specific help, but while searching Asus' website I found a motherboard that is very similar to the P5LP-LE, it is called the P5LD2-VM. Anyway, I just wanted to know if you guys think it would be possible to use the ASUS bios to convert my motherboard into this specific model. I just wanted to know what precautions to take (I should back up my current bios, etc etc) and what risks might be involved if it doesn't work.

For those of you who are not familiar with these motherboards, they support LGA775 socket cpu's, and I am running a 820 D in it. Here is a link to the HP Asus P5LP-LE and it's specifications and another link to the P5LD2-VM and it's specifications so you guys can see how similar they are. The only big difference I have seen is that the retail Asus board has one less pci slot than the HP motherboard.

They are definatly not the same board. It would take a miracle for the bios from that other board to work with your HP motherboard. If it doesn't work, your motherboard will be dead..and it will be very tricky to get a replacement bios chip, since it's an OEM board for HP. It's up to you, but to me, it wouldnt' be worth the risk.
