HP Mini 210 Memory speed question

Hi Guys, perhaps some of you can help me understand this.

I recently bought an HP Mini 210 and after running CPU-Z I've found the following that the memory tab says Type "DDR3" but the SPD tab says "DDR2". If I'm reading this correctly it means this netbook supports ddr3 sodimm but HP decided to sell it with a ddr2 stick. Can you confirm/refute this?

Are there any advantages if I installed DDR3? Sounds to me more speed would be one, but I'm not sure of this, and I haven't been able to find some official info in intel's site to confirm.

Thanks!

Been a reader of AT since 1997 (i think thats when the site started). Back then voodooextreme and alikes were the sites to check for hardware info. Though I never actually got to post here.

Anyways, thanks for that clarification. It makes sense.

I'm running win7 ultimate on it, plus vs2010, sql+analysis+reporting, iis and it runs very well.

Now to try to enable the wireless card in moblin... which is kind of hard because they removed the repositories now that its being merged with Meego
