HP LaserJet 6MP and the use of the Adobe PostScript Level 2 SIMM

What is the Adobe PostScript Level 2 SIMM used for in the HP LaserJet 6MP? Is it needed? I might be able to get my hands on a refurbished LaserJet 6MP. Would it be better to use the Adobe PostScript Level 2 SIMM and upgrade the memory from the 3MB standard to 35MB by filling the two empty SIMM slots with 16MB SIMMS or remove the postscript SIMM and outfit all three slots with 16MB SIMMS?

Thanks

Keep the postscript simm in there. Postscript was created to help ensure consistent formating across different lines of printers.
