Incorrect link

Good catch, though......the code is easily found via Google. What's more interesting, when added to my cart, there was NO shipping charge applied when I choose 3-day UPS shipping, making the final cost a flat $79.99.

Could someone help me out, I cant seem to find it on google and the deal sites dont show any promo codes. Thank you

Yeah...then you use the coupon code to get it for $80...

What about toner for this printer, does anyone know if you need to chip it?...or can you just refill the toner and be done with it?

Was $79 for me, with $6 tax.

FYI: This is a Windows only printer. Those with Macs and PCs may want a different printer.

To be honest, I bought it 2 weeks ago for $100 before the "promo" came out and it works great for what it it -- that being black & white personal laser printer. A co-worker bought it too and we both love it. I have another HP all in one that i use for scanning, photos, etc.

I cant answer your question about ink. But I can tell you that this printer replaces my HP 1100 Laserjet (dinosaur) and I have had good luck with ink from LD products.

The problem with ink is that it's inconsistent, I have read some PC magazines that really say you can weigh the options of buying a new printer when ink runs out instead of ink.

However, like i mentioned 3rd party ink is very inconsistent, sometimes its darker, lighter, etc...if you use this printer at for quick laser jobs and have another photo-all-in-one type, 3rd party ink should be fine. Otherwise, if you're printing major documents that need to impress, you might want to spring for official HP ink.

Filling yourself is always possible, but it can be disastrous if you're not a pro. I think most of us in this forum are geeky enough to build a computer, but ink is tricky.

Like I said, I have had personal good luck with LD products...If memory serves correctly it's www.ldproducts.com, but you can google it to double check.

Hope that helps!

yeah, I just went back to the same site today and noticed that the Egg had dropped the Shipping cost!

Hopefully you guys have noticed that I post a lot of deals as I myself am a deal junkie! I go through the deals everyday because I am trying to find certain components on a strict budget for my "rig 1" (see sig)

I get virtually all my "promo codes" at the same site. I RSS deal feeds from the ".com" that user: "regpfj" found on his search into my Google Reader and just scroll through the deals of the day.

The best way to find deals is to RSS "deals" into your reader and check them, it works great.

More that half my posts on this site are deals that I just find and feel like sharing with my fellow techies.

AnandTech members have been so nice I love this forum!
