HP Laser Jet 2100

I just got a HP Laser Jet 2100 printer free from my dad's boss. The printer spits out pages but with no printing on them. The cartridge seems full and black dust is left on the pages. It seems like it is working "normally" except for no text. Anyone have any experience with this printer or any suggestions to try before I take it into the shop and see if they can diagnose it. I thought about a brand new cartridge but they are $100 bucks.

Thanks

With lose toner on the paper the fuser could have broken in the move. The fuser sets the toner on to the paper. On same laser printers you can see the fuser wire with the toner cartridge removed. The fuser wire is a very small wire that zigzags in front or behind the toner roller. If you can see the wire look to see if it is broken. Get this a try.

Cool I will try that. It was not working before I got it but in my dads office It could have easily gotten moved or bumped.

Thanks

Bummer that did not work. One thing that I did notice however is that the paper is warm when it comes out of the printer. I guess my choices are either buy a cartridge for $100 or pay a shop to diagnose it.

Anyone have anymore ideas?
