HP Laptop spontaneous reboot?

Hello everyone,

I have an HP Omnibook 6000 here running Win2k. It's not very fast (I think it is just a really slow hard drive), but I've never had any problems with it before.

However, I was just typing up a proposal in Microsoft Word 2000, and all of a sudden my laptop REBOOTED for no good reason. The battery is still charged and plugged in, the AC adapter is also plugged in, and ALL I WAS DOING was typing a Word document.

The only things running in my taskbar are Intel Speedstep, my Synaptics touchpad driver, and my ATI driver. Nothing else.

Any clues? The only spontaneous reboots I've encountered in Win2k on a desktop machine were power related. But I don't see how this one was power related!

Thanks for any help,
Kyle
