HP Laptop Problem.......Stops booting half way and restarts

ok so my friend put 2 boot files in the dir where they belong, and when he went to restart and the computer showed the new boot screen, but stops half way and restarts...it keeps doing this. i tried booting in safe mode...any ideas? Im running out of time my buddy needs to leave before 6:00 can anyone help!? PLease

WTF are "boot files" and where do they belong? You talking about boot.ini, config.sys, whatever configuration file lilo uses? You didn't even say what OS you're trying to boot, or what kind of computer it is.

Tell your buddy not to fvck with bootlogos since he obviously sucks at Windows

IIAC (If I'm Assuming Correctly) his friend tried to do something dumb like changing the boot logo. He probably replaced it with the wrong OS (2000/Home/Pro/Corp/SP1/Unpatched/Trojan/pr0ndialer) and b0rk3d the install.
