HP Laptop Power Issue

Recently my laptop has been showing plugged in but not charging when on. Have tried both it's original power cord and a replacement one. Laptop is hitting about 6 years old, and while it's a desktop replacement grade one, not much value in spending much to fix unless it's something simple. Anyone come across this before?
 
course that piece of software makes your battery last longer. Continuous charging when a battery is full (trickle charge) quickens a battery to its death. modern laptops will bounce the battery between the first %10
 
Like most device drivers, it reinstalled after reboot. Not sure of the issue, but working fine since.
