OK I need some ?advanced? help with this problem, I have an HP laptop model ZT1135, recently it started randomly shutting off, and the charge light sometimes doesn?t come on and/or charge the battery, thinking that the battery was bad (and it was) I bought a new one for $100, it charged and worked OK for a few days, but now it won?t even turn on with or without the battery and with or without the power adapter hooked up. I checked the adapter and it is outputting the correct voltage I believe it is 19v DC, also when it is plugged up there is a faint ?squealing? sound coming from inside, so after some research it seems that there are countless problems with the power adapter jack on these machines, here is a link to some other folks with similar problems. Link Now I am pretty good with a soldering iron and all so I decided to disassemble the machine and wow there are a lot of little screws, so now that I have the motherboard out I cant see anything visually or physically wrong with anything, even the power jack solder connections to the board seem good. I checked the solder on the bottom side of the board with my volt meter and with the power adapter plugged up and it is getting the same voltage as the power adapter plug itself. So I think power is making to the board, but with everything off the board and with it plugged in I still hear the high pitched ?squeal? or ?whine? what is that, and does it possibly lead to the problem? Any help with this problem is appreciated. On standard PC repairs I would of course just replace the bard part but in this case, it is not like this is just a $100 motherboard form Newegg, any ideas?
