I'm making a new thread dealing with just these two monitors, hoping to get good exposure and input.

I've decided to get a 24" monitor, I looked at the 22" TN models and they didn't look too good after using a Dell 1905FP for the last 18 months. But, my budget really can't handle the $700 range where you find many of the good models.

I've found the following two monitors that are cheaper, near the end of their production lives, but have gotten good reviews:

HP L2465 $545 after MIR from B&H Photo

LG L246WP-BN $520 at the Burbank, CA Fry's

On my first thread that helped me narrow this down I got several good reports on the LG but no responses on the HP. Anyone else out there with experience or opinions on which I should choose?

I have not heard much about the HP, but the LG is one of the better monitors out there. I know the LG is *VA panel, but
I don't what the HP uses. Regardless, the LG gets my nod. There are a lot of threads on specific monitors over at
hardforum. Check there.

a friend of mine has the LG and its a very good monitor. He got it for like $350 on one of those best buy clearance display model deals.

the HP I believe is part of their pro line, so its probably an MVA panel.
