I got in on the hp photosmart 612 hot deal from wal-mart.com, I got they camera and left it unopened for a couple of weeks or so, then I finally decided to try the thing out and played with it for about an hour took some pics of the house etc... and put it away for a couple of weeks, when I tried to use it again I'll I got was a red, green, and blue barred screen. :( I called HP Support they informed me that my camera was broke and that I must have dropped it or something :|, Which of coarse did not happen but, they took my address and told me that one was being sent to me and that it would be there in 5-7 working days and that they would send me a box with everthing I needed in it to send the broken camera back to them.

Fast foward two weeks-three weeks still no camera, so I call them and they told me they were waiting on me to send them my camera first :| and that if I wanted them to send it to me first, I would have to give them my credit card number, fax them the recipt, and give them 5 bucks :|.

I told them to get bent, and that I would be returning the product from where I purchased it, and that I would never be buy another hp camera again, they suck anyway so I will hold true to that.

So I am going to take it back to wal-mart and take the $150 and either pay some credit card debt or a buy a descent camera, because HP sucks

No, I just feel that they should compensate me somehow for screwing up. I understand the credit card thing but, combine that with having to fax the reciept and 5 bucks, +the factor that I was already told that it was on the way 3wks ago with none of this crap. I think they should be a little more helpful, it will be easier for me to take it back to wal-mart and I can do that today, and then just wait for a good camera to become a hot deal.

I know the situation from hp is not horrible, just incompetent, I am just more or less venting.

What is Wal-mart's exchange policy? I'd bet that they will tell you to get bent and send it back to HP. Typically they will only take returns before 30 days, so good luck getting your refund.

Well, that CSR he spoke to screwed up b/c bthorny was told he would receive a replacement in the mail when in fact he needed to provide collateral for that option.

So all the trouble just b/c of the $5? C'mon, $5 aren't worth the hassles. I think it would have been so much easier and faster to pay.

Very rarely are all calls recorded, typically only in financial or legal institutions would all calls be recorded.

For example, the call center I work in records one call a day. Of those, only 1-3 per month are actually reviewed.

...... All I want to say is that you should have gone to Wal-Mart the 2nd week. I mean it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out something has gone wrong which causes the delay. Or u should have called HP the 2nd week and get an update......
Cannot believe that it took u 3 weeks to figure this simple thing out....
