Hp inkjet printing blank page on bootup

I have a guy who has a HP printer and a zip drive on the same paralell port running windows 98, when he boots up his computer and printer, right before he gets into windows the printer prints a blank sheet of paper. Could this be because of the zip drive, If so have you guys seen this before? And are thier any work arounds besides unpluging the Zip drive. What is really srange is it worked fine until he moved his computer to his other office.
 
I dont know what printer you have, but I get a similar problem. I think my user has an hp dj 520 or some 500 series. When she turns on her computer and printer in the morn and prints something out, the first page is *always* blank. This only happens the first time she prints after she boots. I think the solution was to install the most recent drivers. No problems now.
