Looks like HP is releasing their own take on a Windows Phone. Looks like it's powered by the SD 820, which shouldn't need water cooling :sneaky:

I'm right behind you. I love my Lumia 1520 but I just want something new.
The 950xl was not a good upgrade but this HP Elite X3 phone is what I want, its just missing the Intel cpu inside. Bring on the Surface phone!

Not happening for some time. Intel is still years behind with their mobile chipsets. I think we're more likely to see increasingly powerful ARM processors running x86 emulated for some apps. The whole idea of Windows 10 is universal apps, which is supposed to eliminate the necessity that a particular device has a certain architecture. I think it won't be at least a few more years before universal apps will be close to that point.

That phone is a good looking device. And that Mobile Extender is exactly what I would want. I would be missing out on a few things on the dev side, though. Which is why I would want x86 and the ability to run those programs as well.

And that battery size, on WP? That's amazing.

Now that I let the HP x3/extender sink in for a day it is actually a pretty smart idea for them to find their way back into fight with ios/android. Is the day of editing 100s of RAW in the field using continuum on Adobe PS cloud finally become true? e.g plug the dslr to the extender, batch edit on PS cloud, jump in the car, all done and ready for you back at home or office.

Also visual vm from my work desk phone?

I don't see any revolution in this device, only evolution. This is the next step towards Surface Phone...and the Surface Phone might be the device that can bring me back to Windows Phone.

Question, why would anyone integrate Bang & Olufsen audio in an enterprise device?

They have in the meantime confirmed that it will also be sold to consumers.

Though, since those sales are likely to be a minority, not really an explanation for your question

I just wish this had Android on board, or at least had access to all the android apps. If that was solved I would be thrilled with this phone. The specs are almost perfect!!!

Waterproof, shockproof, phablet, large battery, 4GB RAM, latest CPU, AMOLED screen, Gorilla Glass 4, fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C. Arg why can't more companies make phones like this!

Improvements could be made to have higher end cameras and removable battery. Maybe 'slightly' smaller screen such as 5.7". The dream would be x86 CPU, just like rumored in the elusive Surface Phone. I would even be happy to pay quite a bit more to have all those features.

Just watched some YouTube videos about it, keep us updated, that looks really cool. Did you get the "laptop"? Or are you going to use it as a desktop?
