did a search, hope it's not a repost.

here

not sure how good of a deal this is, I've seen some lcds for 200 ar, but no rebate here so some might find this hot. unless the quality sucks, then I'm sorry.

edit: a refurb. so no rebate. hope they weren't trying to pull a fast one on us.

This LCD I believe has a $50 MIR from HP. As long as this isn't a refurb this should work. This would be a hot deal for 179.ish for a LCD w/ DVI. Picture quality is pretty good. Unbeatable for price IMHO.

Driver bit depth 24 bit

sort-of a reveiw here -- "Typically, 15-inch LCD monitors don't make optimal displays for playing games, especially if you're fond of running games at really high resolutions. Like other LCD monitors of this size, HP's model limits you to a maximum (and optimum) resolution of 1024 by 768. Gaming images in our test runs of Quake III and Unreal Tournament appeared overcontrasted, even at 1024 by 768."

And for what its worth -- I've seen this LCD in person and my initial impression of it... had me looking at the other LCD's sitting next to it. BUT, if you need a cheapie 15" LCD for ~$230... this ain't bad (not to mention a possible rebate).

its DVI and analog. my dad works at the company that builds these. they are very good monitors.

the LCD is made by chung hwa picture tubes. i think the refresh is like 40ms though.
