HP Envy 17 J-070ca for $550+tax... good deal?

Hey,

I just went to a local staples and purchased a clearance HP Envy 17 J-070ca for $550+tax Canadian.

The specs are decent:
17.3inch 1600x900 (ouch I know but for this price - I think its okay no?)
Quad Core Intel i7 4700MQ
8GB RAM
1TB Hard Drive
BluRay Drive
NVidia GTX750M (I'm not a gamer so not really important)

Has a second Hard Drive bay so I can add an SSD.

Any issues with these HP Laptops? A lot of people seem to say to stay away from HP... I've had an HP in the past (2009 - 2012) and it gave me no problems - mind you I'm a lot more gentler on my electronics than most people are.

So what I'm trying to ask is, should I keep it or return it? For the specs it was a Buy Now think later kind of decision...

I'm guessing no response is a good response? LOL basically just want to confirm or deny that either I have made a good decision or HP is so bad now I should return.

Agreed, that is an excellent price. A laptop with those specs could easily go for 800 dollars plus (USD dont know what that would be in canadian).

HP is probably not the most reliable laptop, but I wouldnt call it awful either. I think it is basically just the luck of the draw.
