Question HP Elitebook keyboard stopped working

I was trying to reinstall Windows on a laptopn, an HP Elitebook. While trying to enter the BIOS, for some reason the keyboard stopped working (but not the touchpad). I googled about it and none of the solutions work, not right shift during 8 seconds, or uninstall keyboard driver. Also tried an USB keyboard, but during boot it is not detected and only works when Windows starts, so it is useless to enter BIOS. Any idea about what could be happening? The only thing, besides pressing functin keys I did was to run ccleaner to try saving the system without reinstalling.

Right shift only works sometimes for BIOS boot, the preferred guaranteed method would be to extract the SSD or F-command or escape. For HP most computers, it's usually F9.

If the computer motherboard is really fuzzy, then you'll get mixed results, which is not uncommon for Elitebooks. HP built nice chassis computers with crap parts to give us the imagination that their upper-crust units were business class, it was random guessing just like the other competitors.

Try popping the chassis and re-reseating the keyboard. And also, try another SSD with a fresh copy of Win10 to see if there is an error with the original Win10 software.

A laptop expertcame, removed the battery and the board battery. After that, the keyboard started working again!
