hey im buying a notebook within a week's time which has to be with the new intel p series processors which use a 1066 fsb. the dv6-1125ee uses a p8600 n comes with (2+1) 3 gb ram, which i assume is ddr2-800.
does any1 know if the hp dv6, dv5 or even dv4 support 'flex mode' so 2 out of the 3gb can run in dual channel mode?
if it dusnt, then am i better off with getting 4gb of dual channel ram, bearing in mind i will definitely use vista 32 bit? will this combo (2+2) perform better than (2+1), even though vista wil prolly recognize 3gb in both cases?
the fsb ram ratio will not be 1:1 in either case, will that become an issue? can i change the settings thru the bios or does HP not have decent variable bios settings?
ive kept the questions as clear n precise as possible. intel p series processor n vista 32 bit r a must. can any1 help me out plz, n answer my questions?
