hp dv4000 with a disabled modem

i can't seem to get the modem back on line. is there a trick to these things.

it was disabled when he went to a wireless network. now he has to move to a dial up only.

now it says it can't find a modem. i tried installing device drivers.

basically, its been a long day.

Is it enabled in the BIOS and the device manager?

where is device manager in these things? seems to be hidden windows xp sp2 i believe (i know its sp anyway)

My Computer rt.click to Properties --> Hardware --> Device Manager.

Make sure there are no yellow flags or red 'x's through any of the hardware in the device manager.
