Ok just reinstalled WinXP on a HP 754N, i deleted the recovery partition, and now I do not have any of the drivers. HP does not have them on their site, does anyone have the drivers for a 754N. I am missing the AC97 Audio driver, the USB controller driver, and the SM driver. If you know where I can get these that would be great or if you could send them to me that would also be great.

You don't necessarily have to use HP's drivers for everything. You can get the 845G chipset drivers from intel (that will solve your USB problem).

correct install order should be: Format and install XP, install SP1, Install chipset....then rest of drivers + windows updates

Here is a link to the specs for your computer:

It has the Realtek ALC202A onboard sound, drivers are located here (double check to make sure they are right):

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dlac97-2.aspx?lineid=5&famid=12&series=8&Software=True#8Windows

Here are what I think are the intel drivers:

http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/filter_results.asp?strOSs=44&strTypes=DRV%2CARC%2CUTL&ProductID=757&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional&submit=Go%21

you want the INF update utility

and at the moment I can't think of what an SM driver is

And you'd think HP would have the basic drivers on their website...but no..that would just be too easy..
