HI:
Just tinkering with my new HP DM1 with AMD E450 chip, and noticed that flash videos from HULU tended to be stuttering when running from Firefox, or evn IE for that matter. From reinstalling the system with minimal additional components as HP allows in the recovery console, I had improvement for a while, but noted that it started to occur again. After running CPU-Z and the AMD system monitor as well as resource monitor from Win 7, I found that the CPU frequency locks at 49% after running flash based video or even games (Team Fortress 2 on steam actually runs at low settings until the CPU locks at a lower frequency). This is not reproducible with IE, but is with Firefox (though not at the same point in the video), and clearly seems to be tied to flash as based on the "non- IE" platform. HP had me install a new video driver update, and it seemed to help until it happened again. Anyone have any ideas? I've looked at all power settings, and nothing should be allowing the processor to be dropped to half speed. Also, after exiting firefox, it will take about a minute and then the CPZ speed will pick up again. Thanks!
