HI All,

There was some problem with my HP Deskjet F730 AIO.
As soon as it booted up,it used to show E (for error) on the seven segment LCD display it has.
If a copy job is tried with this state or the transient OK state after pressing Resume button, the paper would move back and forth and then when it came out it would be folded/torn etc.

The windows driver that comes with the device showed Paper Jam but no further info about where and how to remove it. There were some general instructions about opening hte front cover, back cover etc...but things dint work properly.

So I was stuck with the E status and the machine was of no use anymore.

As you might already know, buying a new device costs lesser than getting an old one reparied...at least when it comes AIOs/MFPs ..

So the following actions were done.

1>Connect the device to Ubuntu 12.04 machine.
2>Try simple scan
--->This worked fine. SANE backend for Hp seems to ignore the printer jam which is blocking all the jobs from front panel on the device.
-->Temp conclusion from this is that the Scanner has no issues.. There probably could be an actual jam

3>Well....this is the wrong step that I took...but well
Bought a screw drivers set...and OPENED UP the device COMPLETELY.
Well I think there are at least 30+ screws removed from the device now...
4>Tried to reconnect all the parts but now nothing works.
When I connect the power cable after what I think is the correct assembly of the parts, the panel board shows ALL the lights lit (all means...the ink cartidge levels leds ,the seven segment display's segments and the other LEDs corresponding to PowerOn/Resume etc hardkeys)...and nothing moves.

5>I checked the connections again ...everything seemed to be ok..but it seemed there is some issue with one of the connectors,.

The board has the following number CB781-80006 and google says it's a sensor but no further details.

Now coming to the queries,
1>Could anybody refer me to a link showing some details about HP Deskjet F730 AIO? Could not find one after googling.
2>What is CB781-80006 actually? I mean, what kind of sensor is it and does what and how imp is it as a component.

Please note that this is my first post here ,so if there is any inconvenience caused by the format or the details (necessary/unnecessary ) ,please do leave me a comment so that I will be careful next time.

Arigatou gozaimashita.

Regards,
Viresh
