Question my wife is a teacher and was just upgraded to Windows 2000 this morning and now her printer will not work. Is anyone using this or a similar printer with 2000 ? If so how ? Thanks for the help.
I have the 810C and it works with Win2k. Does she have internet? She can download the printer driver file from hp.com or reinstall from the CD that comes with the printer. Let me know if you have more questions.
Windows 2k/XP has a native driver. You may need to manually install the printer. I'm currently using a DeskJet 710 under Win 2K and the printer was automatically detected by Windows. Be advised, this driver doesn't have all the features of the Win 9x drivers, i.e. no banner printing.
My 812C installs on it's own in 2K. Turn the printer on but leave the USB cable unplugged. Turn on the computer or reboot it. After it has booted plug in the USB cable with the printer on. Win2K should find it and install it for you.
Thanks for the help. I got it to work, I went up to School for her and it installed fine with both USB and par support. Not sure what the proble was when she tried it this morning. Thanks again. 🙂
