hi
I'm trying to reinstall the printer after just doing a reformat and clean install of
w2k,when i plug the usb cable of the printer into the back of the pc and switch on the
printer a window appears on the screen saying New Hardware Found but this changes to read
Unknown device and then it says an error occurred during the installation of the device "The
installation failed because a function driver was not specified for this device
instance,code 28"
This is the first time this error has happened normally when i reinstall the printer after a
format i plug it in switch it on the New Hardware Found window appears then it takes me to
the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard and from there i can install the driver
Does anyone know how i can fix this i've already try'd a format and clean install of the OS
and i still get this error ,is this a faulty cable perhaps or a problem with the printer
itself?
