HP Compaq nx9005 Memory

The memory onboard my NB is rated at CAS2 which from HP/Compaq is twice the price of generic CAS2.5.

1) Is there a way of getting full access to the BIOS i.e. set the CAS speed etc.?

2) If I put CAS2.5 memory in will the NB default to the slower CAS?

Any help please.
