HP Compaq 6730s questions

The laptop belongs to my cousins; it had maware and was cleaned. For AV they have Avast. It has Windows Vista Home Basic with options to reinstall to factory settings.

sfc /scannow message. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

Probably in the process of removing malware, I have lost a few folders that were on the desktop, or I have lost the desktop (can this happen?). I am not sure, but I think the desktop path was different from what it is now. And the path lies in a strange place:
C : \Users\username\Music\Bluetooth Software\Documents\Desktop\
Any opinions on this?
I cannot find the folders anywhere and I was lucky to make a backup before I started.
Edit: I have found the old desktop and its path is:
C : \Users\username\Bluetooth Software\Documents\Desktop\
Anyone understands what might have happened? /Edit
Edit2: How can I put the old desktop path back? /Edit2

The disk is a Hitachi Travelstar 320 GB SATA 2 5400. Checks positive. The temperature is 45 C. HD Tune gives an average transfer rate of 35 MB/s, an access time of 22 ms and a CPU usage of 25%. Are the numbers high, especially the CPU usage?

The disk has three partitions:
Unnamed (C : ) 288.09 GB NTFS, HP_TOOLS (F : ) 1 GB FAT32, HP_RECOVERY (D : ) 9 GB NTFS
Is it possible to create a disk image (with Macrium Reflect) without the C: partition and including the MBR?

The CPU is an Intel Pentium Dual T3400 with temperatures that range from 80 to 100 C. I have not cleaned the inside of the laptop yet, but still the temps looks very high. Anyone knows the normal operating temperatures?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Bump as I need some answers.

And some updates. After cleaning and applying some new thermal paste the temperatures are back to normal, 35-60 C for the CPU and 40-50 for the GPU, so this one is sorted out.

The remaining questions...
Desktop. How can I change the desktop path back to the normal C : \Users\username\Desktop\?
Is the disk CPU usage high? Sometimes I see it go as high as 30%.
Is it possible to create a disk image, or clone, with Macrium Reflect, without the C: partition and including the MBR?

I understand it is easier to do a factory restore and this is what I asked them to do, but they will loose some programs which they don't have.
