What is probably more likely is she wanted more extortion money from him and she threatened a harassment suit or spill the beans if he didn't pay. He didn't pay, she's got documents of the pay off money, his career is ruined.

Meh, not ruined. He's looking to get over $50m in severance. I'm pretty sure he can live comfortably through retirement.

Way too much. I have friends who work for HP (I jumped ship from Compaq when the merger was announced) who haven't seen a pay raise for years (they've been on a freeze for a number of years), but Hurd always managed to get huge bonuses ($24 million cash bonus in 2008 and $15 million in 2009). Those were just cash bonuses and don't include his base pay, stock options, or perks.

I love it when arrogant CEOs talk about integrity, respect, etc. and then get busted for violating their own rules. You'd think with his ~$20 million bonus, he could've afforded a padlock for his pants.

Cappellas should have been the CEO when they merged. Fiorina was too busy acting as if she were a rock star and getting all the publicity she could. I swear, we had a great quarter at Compaq, got huge bonuses, and then a couple of mediocre ones and suddenly, we're merging with HP.
