I have a 10x4x32 HP CD Writer Plus 9350i and it has worked very well. My kids have made a few "coasters" but most of them were through trying other software like Nero. With the provided HP software it has been very reliable and fast enough for me. I would expect the 12x10x32 to be similar, just a bit faster. You might want to shop around a little, though. HP is offering our 9350i for just $119.95 direct and we paid just $99.95 for ours at Office Max about 6 months ago.

I already have a burner, but I was thinking about this one because it has BurnProof, and I can get a deal on it. I was just wondering if it was a clone of a more popular brand. They used to be Sony clones, but I heard recently they cut it out.
