I've been planning on buying a cd burner for a while, just noticed a pretty good price on this model. Anyone using it? Can you reccomend it?
I'll be using it in Win 98 but I'll be upgrading to ME very soon.
Thanks Toro:)

Toro 45,
I have a Plextor but a buddy of mine has that model and he's happy with his. Another plus, like the Plextor it's compatible with CloneCD.

Ya, I know the 9110i is a bit dated, I'm just concerned about the quality of the drive? I can get the HP 10x4x32 for $189.00 which is 40 more than the 8x4x32.

I know the Plextor drives are highly regarded for there quality but
the Plextor has got to be at least $230.00 or higher which is not in my price range.
I'm always behind the curve on cutting edge & speed & ,which puts me back to the 9110i for $149.00 if the quality of the drive is there?

Thanks Wally & Bonkers,
Toro

my friend has it and i burn stuff at his place when they dont work with nero or ezcd (ie when clonecd is needed) since my smart&friendly does not support clonecd :(

i and he are very happy with it, given its price...

I have the 9110i. I plan to return it and get a different one. Probally a 10x or something. Other than that the burner has done me well.

Does this burner burn on the 700 meg cd's? I'm not sure if it's the burner that dictates it or the software but there is a good price on this and I just want to make sure it works on the larger discs.
