HP CD-Writer Plus 8000, Drivers wanted!!!!

I committed a cardinal sin. I failed to save the drivers on an old HP Pavilion computer before I formatted the hard drive. The HP CD-Writer Plus 8000 is no longer among the drivers listed on the HP site. I have search google and didn?t find any drivers fitting this device. I tried drivers for the 8100i but Win XP stated that these drivers, particularly the directcd.exe, would create instability. Does anyone have a solution.
 
Try a newer version of Roxio or Nero or one of the freeware burner programs. That drive shouldn't require any special drivers to work - you just have a version of Easy CD that is not very compatible with the OS.
