I have a 4x/4x/24/ Hewett Packard 8200 Series CD-R. I use the Nero program and burn them into Fuji CD's.
I've been using the burner and program for about 2 years now and it has served me well till this point. Recently however, I've experienced problems.
Last night I copied some audio music files and burned them onto the CD. It says 'Burn successful complete'. But when I tried listening to it on the computer or discman, I hear this clicking noise coming from the machine and no sounds of music. The funny thing is, when I put it in my laser disc player, the CD plays and it works fine. I tried to burn another copy but had the same results.
I really DON"t think it's a media problem because the FUJI's I use contain the Taiyo Yuden dye, which I've had a good record with. Still, I tried other brands such as Imation and got exactly the same results.
What is wrong? Is the burner no longer good? Is it the CD's? If so, how come they worked before? How can I clean the laser on the drive? Why did the CD work in the LD but not anything else? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!!
