EDIT: There's a chance the new model listed (C200cl, not C200) is incompatible with the $50 rebate

Found this at techbargains

To to hpshopping.com and find the C200 digital camera. Price is $179, including 2-day FedEx shipping but not any applicable sales tax. There is also a $50 mail-in rebate form on the product page, or found here. As far as I know this rebate is only valid for purchases made through hpshopping.com. Comes with a free wide angle lens.

EDIT: hpshopping.com put an 10% instant rebate on their digital cameras. If you got a C200, call customer service at 1-888-999-4747 and ask to be credited $17.90. The Price Protection Policy on the invoice says:

If within 30 days of receiving your hpshopping.com purchase, hpshopping.com offers that same product at a lower price, simply call us with your order number and we will be happy to process a credit for the difference.

Started looking for things to go with this camera

SanDisk CF USB reader for $22.69 shipped at Onvia

4 rechargeable NiMH batteries w/charger at Outpost.com, search for 53570 (posted by Redline in another thread)

Looking for a cheap case. Found one for Fuji models at Onvia, for $2.94 shipped. Any thoughts if this will fit the C200?

Good find. Direct link for Sample Photos.

Looked at Staples for possible Pricematching deals, but no luck.

Anyone come across this camera at other places to get a better deal through pricematching ?

Thanks!

This is a great camera for net photos. I also got in on that deal for the 48mb compact flash card for 45 bucks shipped from overstock.com. Now I can take 100+ photos at the highest setting and up to 500+ on the lowest.

They dropped the price of the C200 $17.90 to $161.10 before MIR, which would be even hotter except it's out of stock and no option to order. That would be $111.10 shipped. Got mine today, works great so far. The manual says in bold print that it takes alkalines only :(, so I guess my warranty doesn't apply if my NiMH's leak.

Well, the c200CL is in stock. Is this "cl" version the same as the above-mentioned c200? And the cl is going for $179.

I have the C200. The pictures are decent but not as nice as my powershot s10. Still, that's a good deal.

I think the letters after the C200 designate the software package that comes with it. no big deal though.

If anyone has the Fuji camera case described above, can you post a picture of it? Will the powershot s10 fit? Or is it too big for the S10? Still looking for a snug case for the S10.

The CL model includes the AC adapter, but has only 4mb CF compared to 8mb for the regular model. Still, considering the AC adapter sells for $50 on their site, it might be a better deal (and 8mb CF isn't that expensive). hpshopping.com has 10% off all digital cameras, which would explain the instant rebate. For some reason it's not showing up on the C200cl, though. Might be a good idea to phone in the order.

However, check with customer service to see if the $50 rebate is good for the C200cl. The rebate form shows the C200 only, and it might be specific to it.

cool! thanks for the deal...

i couldnt get the instant rebate to work online, so i tried ordering by phone. the CSR told me the 10% instant rebate doesnt apply to the 200CL, but the $50 rebate does. i have the $200 to blow, so i just ordered it anyways.

I just ordered the C200cl w/ free wide-angle lens and the 10% instant rebate DID show up in my cart! So my final price was $179 - $18 instant rebate - $50 MIR = $111. My dad wanted a digital camera for Christmas. He's new to the technology and to photography in general, so I think he'll se quite pleased with this ;)

Judging by this page, the C200 series have different model #'s for the C200, xi and cl. I went back and looked at the rebate and it says it's valid only for C7294A, which is the C200 (the CL is C7333A). The way the rebate is set up is really vague, from just looking at it you'd assume it is good for the entire series. Hopefully the CSR aliu79 talked to was correct, but you might want to confirm this. Sorry for not catching this earlier.

$161 still isn't that bad of a deal for a C200 w/ AC adapter and wide-angle lens. If they give me crap about the rebate, I'll give them that CSR's name. Thanks!
