this camera wasnt half bad when it came out. Has a 1.8 " LCD, great for the kids. its a refurb, and comes with nothing but the camera. but usb readers and 16mb cf cards are cheap now.

toss in 4 AA batteries, and good camera for kids or for ebay and such. beats all those el cheapo cams with no LCD or flash.

must use 10% coupon to get the price above

FYI:
Depth 2.1 in.

Height 3.1 in.

Width 5 in.

Weight .7 lb.

In other words, it might fit in the trunk of your car, assuming the car can hold the payload...

yeah i know, its large. a friend of mine had one. but it is useable, and the pictures are not absolutely terrible. for $28.35 its a great camera.

the main thing is kids can use this thing. its also not nearly as breakable. kids refuse to use digicams without LCDS.
most kids are smart enough to use these too. i once gave my 10 year old cousins a kodak dc240 and they easily figured it out. too bad the motor on the zoom jammed eventually on that POS. but yeah kids are smart enough to use this very very simple camera.

Thanks hans007...my 3 1/2 year old loves to take pictures but she already dropped our S30 quite a few times putting some dents in it. So we gave her a regular film camera except she isn't sure if she took any since she can't see it...now I can get this camera for her to play with, especially using AA batteries is easier for this kind of on/off usage.

My first digicam was a Casio that does 640x480 with no external memory, had to download pics every 10 or so....kids today are so lucky!

I received this camera today from compgeeks. It's in good shape and there was an 8MB Sandisk CF card inside. The LCD is pretty poor for indoor shots, but looks fine outside. It's a little wider and taller than my Olympus C-4000, but I'd say it's a good deal for $28. The picture quality is good at highest resolution (1152x872). This wasn't built as a cheap camera when it came out. It's very outdated, but the build quality is pretty good. None of the doors, covers or buttons feel cheap.

I bought a few other items to offset the shipping: Compaq USB 10/100 adapter $11AC, Disney SketchBoard $12.99 and a hands-free cell phone mic/earphone $0.39. The SketchBoard and mic/earphone come up as specials when you add the camera to the cart.

My friend has this camera. It's big, but quite ergonomic. Take decent pictures. It's menus and buttons are not too user-friendly, but manageable. It's quite a buy for $30. Probably good to keep in the car.

Did your camera come as factory refurbished (new camera shell ? ), so no scratches ?

Nice price for a digital camera. Should do as long as you're not printing out photos, and for $30 it maybe worth as a spare.

we got on this deal for our daughter (Christmas) and she is estatic! Only problem is that we can't figure out how to see the pictures you have taken on the lcd - I was told you can even see thumbnails...

Motoxpress, if you can't figure it out, let me know. I have my manual still around here somewhere.

We just figured it out. You have to have to lens closed and push the menu button.

I am pretty happy with this as a first digicam for my 9 yo. and she is thrilled ("Just like grandma's!")

Thanks

Close the shutter, then press the blue button. You can use the menu button to access the other features (delete pictures, format card, set date/time, see thumbnails, etc).

Cool. Just ordered two for the kids. Uses CF and AA which I have plenty of. This camera was $400 back in '00!
