HP and Compaq laptop

They are very much the same in each comparable model. One has black keys and the other white or gray. Same features. Just personal appearance preference. I don't think COmpaq has "Imprint."
 
They are the same - just look at the features.

Compaq is more of a "value" line - with the Celeron CPU's, less RAM, Vista Basic etc.

Otherwise, the similar configurations are identical in terms of components/preformance, IMHO.

I have read about word "Imprint" but I am not sure what imprint is? Care to tell me about it?

What I bought Compaq last week comes with 1GB memory Althon 64 X2 TL 53 and Vista Home Premium but I am returning it back tomorrow anyway.

It is a fancy design embedded in a glossy black finish. Nothing really outstanding, but it is pretty. It started on HPs in 2006.

Imprint

HP acquired Compaq sever years ago under the Fiorini regime - and it had several objectives which included increased market share, a wider range of products price wise, and the elimination of a competitor.
