Were you able to tell the quality by just looking at the pictures??;) Or did you actually see one in person?

What were you going to use it primarily for ? Business apps? What is most important to you? This conversation can go anywhere unless you're more specific of your needs. Hard drives are slower than I prefer them but its video adapter is by far its weakest link and of course that will just be invisible if all you will be doing is working with business applications.

Umm, not to sound like an eMachine fanboy (but right now I am :) )I configured the HP laptop as close as I could as the M6805 and the prices are the same. For that price you can get a Radeon 9600 on the M6805 instead of the Geforce 440, and maybe a 5400 rpm HD instead of the 4200 rpm. I don't see how the HP laptop is better than the emachines one.

the only advantage i see to the hp machine is that it can be configured to WSXGA+ (1680x1050).

maybe your right, i did like the high res and the 3200 Vs the 3000.
How bad is the Geforce 440. The Z series with the moble Xp had a pretty solid build, it seemed a lot more sturdy than the current emachine lappy.

I've seen them both (well the HP has a different model, but same chassis)...the HP seems to be of much better quality when it comes to design and exterior features.
