HP 9150i

Hi! I bought HP CDWriter 9150i, and I have some problems with it. When I burn CD's at high speed (8x), it sometimes makes screeching noises, and when I open the tray, there are dust left from CD's in the tray. It doesn't seem to damage CD, but once when I was burning, it made a lot of noise and session stopped. Usually burning works fine, but should I RMA writer because of this sound? Something in the drive seems to be unbalanced.

Has anyone had same kind of problems?

I have the HP 9310i model which is virtually identical (10x4x32) to yours. I have almost no sound at all coming fron the CD when it is burning. When I use CD direct the disk access is a little noisy but nothing to bother with, like a slow muffled rev up and down.

I'd RMA the drive and get a new one if it were me.
