HP 9100i

I've got the HP 9100i CD writer installed on a win2k system w/ a ECS K7S5A mobo... yes, another K7S5A mobo problem here..... However, when I install the software provided w/ the drive, I get this error.."Install assistant could not finda suitable IDE Controller for HP CD-Writer"... and when I try to install nero, it doesnt even recognize the drive as a CD writer, just as a cd drive... i mean, it works fine and everything as a cd-rom, just not being recognized as a cdrw... what could the problem be??
