YMMV....I passed thru the electronics department at WalMart tonight and they had a lot of cameras on the clearance rack. Then I saw this DVDRW (there were 3 on the shelf). I've been wanting to get one. The price was right and the Lightscribe technology, where your DVDRW can laser a picture onto the top of the disc, is an added bonus. Here is PCWorld review.
If you see it somewhere cheaper than that including shipping, get back to me and I will take this one back

I might be missing something here but I bought a DVDRW w/Lightscribe from NewEgg last month for about $50.

Same here. I got the benq 1655. Havent tested the lightscribe part of it but everything else burns flawlessly . I checked using cdspeed. The 1st 4 burners I used before this one were junk so be very careful before you buy. From my experience most dvd burners don't. And $70 is too much to pay unless its a plex or its an emergency. BTW who is the oem for hp now?

Just got back from my local walmart (dsm, ia), had a large number of computer items on sale, 128mb pen drives for $8, they also had the hp dvd writer with lightscribe reduced to $49.99, a lite-on external dvd writer for $69.99, various apc ups's for $25/$30 (normally would retail for $60/$80). Picked up a 3 port firewire card for $12
