If I install an HP JetDirect 600N in my LaserJet printer, will it work with Windows 7 64-bit?

Thanks.

The printer driver is available for my version of Windows however, software for the print server is only available for the following versions:

Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Not Windows 7 64-bit?

The software that is available for the other versions of Windows is the HP Standard Port Monitor - TCP/IP and the HP Download Manager to update the firmware.

You shouldn't need to install print server software to install the printer into Windows or any other OS that I am aware of.

Most print servers have a local website you can log into to configure the network on the print server. Some can also do the configuration on the printer itself.

Search for your printer and how to set up the network properties.

HP 600N attaches to the back of the printer in an EIO slot. You do not need any special drivers for it. Nearly all the HP printers (business / laser) are available on Windows update (in the add printer wizard, ask it to search windows update) or is supported using HP's "Generic PCL printer" driver. This is the exact same driver windows would need for having the printer connected as a parallel printer. You just point it at the TCP/IP port rather than an LPT port.
