HP 1160 - install on win 7 64 bit

I am in the process of reloading win 7 on an HP desktop. I tried (stupidly) to install the SW from the disk that came with it, then attached w/USB cable. This of course did not work, apparently the disk does not have 7 drivers. I read you have to get driver from win 7 or through win update. *The HP SW from disk did not install. After I load SP1 to the OS, then all the later OS updates what is the best way to install the printer?
