OK,

So I get home from work, and find that somehow
rolleye.gif
a couple of these really cool Blue LEDs hitchhiked a ride home with me.

My question: When I give them a nice home on my PC face, do I need to install current limiting resistance with them, or is the

series resistance on the MoBo?

TIA,

Depends what kind of LEDs.

Most LEDs run 3.3v but 5v may be possible.

Assuming they are 3.3v LEDs
12v --> 470ohm resistor --> LED
5v --> 130ohm resistor --> LED

Or straight off Mobo LED plugs no resistor nessecary.

Ah yes, that is the info I was looking for! (I am replacing power and maybe HD display lamps with Blue..... from MoBo header)

(2.5V or greater will drive any LED... just a matter of limiting that current to avoid burn-out)
