How's your microwave?

For some reason no one in this household will clean the microwave.
Every time I open it up I scurry to clean it before the FDA sends in their SWAT team to shut us down.
The only thing worse is the microwave at work. I refuse to enter the same room as that machine for fear the metamorphosis of whatever is growing in there completes while I'm in the room.
I'm not having my brains sucked out by some electromagnetically induced life form.

Is your microwave a filth hole?
What about the microwave at work?

Any input on why I'm the only person on the planet who thinks the inside of a microwave should be clean??

It's pretty gross. We're pretty clean, but it's the one thing that rarely gets cleaned...probably because it's so rarely used. It's dying anyways and the turntable is missing...need to get a new one.

you left out an option on the one at work...

It's clean and used regularly and the cleaning lady doesn't touch it. Female employees in my area use it and clean it...

Even if it is pretty dirty, what with microwaves, nothing could live in there to effect your health.

I need an option between It's spotless and it gets used regularly and It could be better. Ours is used regularly, and could be better, but it wouldn't be practical to keep it spotless! When I hit the sink, I get the mircowave at the same time. Takes only a few seconds. Just a matter of developing good habits.

The one at my house is not too bad,
i have the habit of always covering what I "nuke".

The one at work the cleaning lady cleans. 🙂

Our microwave at home is real clean even though we use it often (we have a huge bowl that we use to cover anything that we heat up). Our microwave at work is pretty nasty.
