I was just wondering if I should bother to get one, when they first came out I got the impression they were something akin to the Rapture

i love it. it's my primary account for emailing friends. i love how it's similar to text messaging.
it's clean, and fast.

I really like mine, mostly because I always refused webmail (hotmail == t3h debil) and I now can pick up my e-mail anywhere, I use it as a secondary acct, but I still tell friends to e-mail me at my ISP's acct, and I send newsletters there.

I like how the e-mails are tabbed so you don't get 10 separate instances for 10 e-mails of an e-mail thread.

I think my friend's having problems sending me an attachment (<500k). I'm not complaining, cuz I didn't want to look at other people's server's logs anyway.

I think you're better off registering a domain, getting web hosting and installing your own webmail application.

I like mine, it's now my primary email account. Also, as of right now it's the only email I can access at work :)

I don't like it, bad browser compatibility, and the heavy JavaScript means I can't use normal functions such as open in new window. All all companies you'd think Google would know better.
