Here are the rough system specs. This computer will be used primarily for 3d graphics and light gaming. Most of the parts are available from Newegg:

Enlight EN-7237 - $50
Epox EP-8K7A - $120
IBM 60 GB 60GXP - $152
AMD T-Bird 1.4 GHz OEM - $160
ATI Raedon LE 32 MB - $80
256 MB Crucial DDR - $45
--------
Total: $607

I'll worry about minor stuff (i.e. CPU fan, floppy drive, DVD, shipping costs) later. Does all of this look OK?

this looks pretty good. all reputable stuff. you will undoubtedly get video card quibbling from everyone but the radeon le is a good card and quite sufficient for light gaming.
you might also consider getting the lite on 12/10/32 burnproof cdrw from newegg while you're at it if it's something you need. it's a great deal right now (see hot deals forum)

Such a computing power for 607$
My first 486 was 1400$, damn it!

Great system, go for 512MB if you want to run win2K on it. Prices are ok.

Also, for the Crucial RAM, if you already don't know, use the evguide link to get a 15% discount instead of the normal 10%.

System looks pretty nice. I'm not sure if the EPOX motherboard is in stock however... I've been looking for that one.

Thanks for the input, everybody!

Right now I've got $70 in the bank, so I guess I'll work at McDonald's until I can afford it.
