How's this for slowplaying?

Before anyone mentions the possible stupidity of checking aces, I have to explain that the guys to my left and two to my right are maniacs -- playing and raising almost every hand. They didn't raise pre-flop this time (making me think they had something decent, heh), but I was expecting them to -- since I was UTG I just called rather than raised. Anyway, results. 😀

I just did something similar over @ Aztec poker too, but with Aces full (A's over 10's), when I was holding Ace-baby and the flop came AAJ. I love aggressive players. 😀

Nice cards. It's a judgement call of course, but it seems to me that if they were willing to see your raise on the river they would have been willing to see any raise you made on the flop. Then you would have had another 2 rounds of betting to bleed them some more. Just my two cents, of course. I wish I got 4 aces occaisionally.

Well, on the flop I put one on QK and the other on a flush draw. I wanted them to get a piece they wouldn't let go of -- granted, they are maniacs, but I wanted them to have something solid. When the Kd fell I was very happy. 🙂

My sob story from the other night:

15 of us playing tournament style, $40 buy in. I'm running low on chips so I'm looking to go balls out (my first mistake). I'm dealt J J and bet small, 4 out of the 6 at our table stay in. Flop comes and it's Q Q J, I go all in.

One guy calls, he was holding Q J. I lose 🙁.

Tough beat, but even if you weren't looking to go balls out, it's hard to get away from a flopped FH. That's just the game sometimes...
