How's this for sh!tty?

I just moved to a new town and don't have any friends, so I'm stuck celebrating my birthday on my own. No biggie - I don't really like being the center of attention anyway.

When I got home from work today, I noticed that my burglar alarm had been tripped with a police entry code, which indicates that maintenance had been here. Then I noticed that I had about 50% water pressure. Kind of crappy, but it's not an emergency, so after-hours maintenance isn't required.

About 30 minutes ago, I'd just finished up my business on the toilet and I went to flush it - nothing. The problem: for some reason, the water line into my toilet is completely dead. I have the valve opened all the way, but nothing happens when I "flush." My sinks, however, are all working fine, albeit at 50% pressure. So I'm stuck flushing the toilet with a bucket of water. Nice.

And it's my birthday.

Happy birthday!

Normally I'd tell you to have a good one, but under the circumstances, I don't think that would be appropriate.

Check the bobber... Sometimes they stick in place and won't let the back container (or whatever you call it) fill back up after you flush. Give it a tap.

Happy birthday.

Happy birthday.
You mean the thing that floats on top of the water? Tried it. In fact, I've tried everything. I'm not too upset, as I can still flush the toilet manually with a bucket, but it still sucks.

I gave up on birthdays a while ago. You wanna take me to dinner or something fine, but don't seem surprised if I teabag the waitress for singing 'Happy Birthday' to me. Kinda brings a whole new meaning to 'Macaroni Grill'...
